Privacy Policy

Walkies! (the "App") keeps your dog's health records in one place and lets you share them with family, sitters and other people who look after your dog. This policy explains what data the App collects, why, who can see it and what your rights are.

1. Data Controller

2. What Data We Collect

2.1. Account data

• Anonymous identifier – generated on first launch so you can use the App without creating an account.
• Apple ID identifier – only if you sign in with Apple.
• Email address – provided by Apple after sign-in, only if you choose to share it (it may be a private relay address).
• Display name – shown to the other members of a dog's care team next to the actions you log (for example "Done · Tom").
• Push notification token – only if you allow notifications.

2.2. Data you enter about your dog

• Dog profile: name, photo, breed, date of birth, weight and energy level.
• Health records: vet visits, medications and doses, vaccines, weight history and notes.
• Chronic condition journal (e.g. diabetes): glucose readings, insulin doses, meals, water intake and symptoms.
• Reminders and today's plan, including whether a reminder was marked done or skipped, when, and by whom.
• Walks: date, time, duration, distance and route.

This is information about your dog, not medical information about you. Please do not enter sensitive personal information about yourself or other people in notes.

2.3. Location

• The App asks for location access only to track a walk.
• Location is used in the background only while a walk is being tracked, so tracking continues when the screen is off.
• The route is saved as part of the walk in your dog's records. Location is never used for advertising or shared with third parties.

2.4. Purchases

Walkies+ is purchased through the App Store. Payments are handled by Apple, and we never see your payment details. Subscription status is managed through RevenueCat (see section 4).

3. Why We Process Data

• To provide the App: storing your dog's records and syncing them between your devices and your care team.
• To send reminders for doses, vaccines, check-ups and walks to you and your care team (if notifications are allowed).
• To generate the PDF report for your vet when you ask for it.
• To manage your Walkies+ subscription.
• To answer your support and feedback messages.

We process data to perform our contract with you (providing the App) and, for notifications and location, on the basis of the permissions you give. You can withdraw these permissions at any time in iOS Settings.

We do not sell your data, we do not show ads, we do not use your data for profiling, and we do not use it to train AI.

4. Service Providers

We use only the following providers to run the App. There are no other third-party APIs, analytics or advertising SDKs in the App.

• Supabase – database, file storage (dog photos) and authentication. All App data is stored here (hosted in the EU).
• RevenueCat – subscription management. It receives an anonymous user identifier and purchase/subscription status only. It does not receive your dog's records.
• Apple – Sign in with Apple, App Store purchases and delivery of push notifications.

5. Sharing With Your Care Team

• You can invite family members, sitters or other carers to a dog using a one-time code. A code can be used once.
• Everyone in a dog's care team sees that dog's records, reminders and history. You choose whether each person can edit or only view.
• Members of the care team see the display name of whoever logged an entry or marked a reminder done or skipped.
• Reminders for a shared dog are sent to the whole care team.
• The dog's owner can remove a person from the care team at any time, and anyone can leave a care team. After that they no longer have access to the dog's records.

The PDF report for your vet is created only when you ask for it. You decide whom to send it to; we do not send it to anyone.

6. Data Retention

We keep your data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, your data is permanently removed from Supabase within 30 days. Records of a dog you created are deleted together with it. If you were a member of someone else's care team, the entries you logged for their dog stay in that dog's history.

7. Your Rights (GDPR & CCPA)

You have the right to:

• access your data,
• correct inaccurate data,
• delete your data ("right to be forgotten"), which you can also do yourself by deleting your account in the App,
• restrict or object to processing,
• receive a copy of your data (data portability).

To exercise your rights, contact us at contact@recursioncorp.dev. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection authority. In Poland, this is the President of the Personal Data Protection Office (UODO).

8. Security

All connections are encrypted (HTTPS/TLS). Access to a dog's records is limited to the members of its care team. We use technical and organizational measures to protect data against loss, unauthorized access and damage.

9. This Website

The usewalkies.com website uses Betterlytics, a privacy-friendly and cookieless analytics service, to count visits. It does not collect personal data, and this data is not connected to the App.

10. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such data, please contact us immediately.

11. Changes to This Policy

We will tell you about any changes to this Privacy Policy in the App or by email. Changes take effect 7 days after publication.
